This Lent, Catholic Students & Schools Across the Diocese of Wilmington are Living the Gospel by Bringing Clean Water to Kenya!
All donations will support Water is Life Kenya, a Delaware nonprofit started by Joyce Tannian, a graduate of Mount Aviat, Holy Angels, and St. Mark's Catholic High School.
Living Water for Lent
18 years ago, a Catholic family in Delaware started bringing clean water to Kenyans in need. Now, Water is Life Kenya is sharing its Gospel values with Catholic schools across the Diocese of Wilmington!
This Lent, CDOW schools will be giving alms to benefit Water is Life Kenya, a Newark-based nonprofit that brings life-transforming clean water access to Kenyans in need. Started by Joyce Tannian (a graduate of Mount Aviat Academy, Holy Angels School, and St. Mark’s High School) and her parents over 18 years ago, WILK has put Gospel values into practice. So far, this organization has brought clean water to over 110,000 people and helped thousands more through its holistic training programs.
The Living Water for Lent program will help students: (1) Give alms to support clean water access, (2) Expand their awareness about global humanitarian issues, (3) Build solidarity across CDOW schools and our sisters and brothers in Kenya, and, by doing so, (4) Live out their Catholic faith.
All are welcome to participate by donating in honor of your school, the Youth Leadership Team, or as a general supporter of WILK's work in Kenya.
